Houston Half Marathon

Yep, finished my first Half Marathon yesterday. Gorgeous day, perfect running weather, having a blast ... until just about mile 9 - right knee, IT band. Now I know just what sports athletes mean when they talk about being frustrated by injury. I could barely walk. I managed to make it to the medical tent about .5 miles away, had them tape the leg just above the knee to compress the band a bit and then somehow hobbled my way to the finish line.

There was no way I was not going to finish after waking up at 5 a.m. on Saturday mornings for the past couple of months to train :-)

See you out there next year and many, many thanks to all of you that were out there cheering!!!

Grace & peace,
D.
